Artist Recommendation: Sonic Dragolgo

Sonic Dragolgo is a London-based self-proclaimed electro pop superstar. The somewhat unusual name is drawn from an amalgamation of the names of the animes Doraemon and Golgo 13, along with the first name of a certain Sega hedgehog.

Sonic Dragolgo has been producing music since the age of 17, when he bought his first synthesizer, and has continued to produce his own brand of light-hearted electro pop blended with experimental music ever since. He released several albums in Japan, as well as becoming a hit in the local techno scene, before leaving Japan in 2001. He first headed to Germany, where he wrote 50 songs in just 33 days.

His live shows are just as interesting as his music. He is a one-man band on stage with nothing but his guitar, his synthesizer and, of course, his trusty Bob The Builder glove puppet. Humor is a huge influence on his stage performances, as well as his music, with songs such as Buy One, Get One Free being a particular crowd pleaser.

He continues to perform regularly in the London area and write songs at an astonishing pace.

Release Recommendation:

This 12-track album was recorded during his stint in Germany and offers an insight into the mind of Mr. Dragolgo. The album combines rock, techno and pop to produce a truly unique sound and is a good representation of the music he produces.

lol kidna funny to see some old friends related music appearing ehre, Japan always had a very distinct electro sound together with the europe scene. but it is considered highly experimental and almost dutch hardcore like XD
