It seems to have become a trend for retired bands to return and play one more concert together, and this has been especially the case this year, particularly with LUNA SEA‘s concert in December last year.

LUNA SEA played an amazing déjà vu concert on Christmas Eve 2007. Approximately 55,000 people came to see this legendary band play together once more and it turned out to be a wonderful, unforgettable concert. You can read a live report from their concert here.
The next legendary band in line is X JAPAN with their two lives in March. As with LUNA SEA, they too will play at the Tokyo Dome, and I have no doubts that they will also manage to fill the hall with excited fans from all over the world.
Fatima‘s long missed vocalist Hitomi-Sanaka-Kanoma-Hitomi is also back, hopefully for good this time, with a new band called Moran. Let’s hope they stick around for a while, even after their first official concert in March.
And speaking of March, it seems that the blooming cherry trees have inspired another band to bloom as Deshabillz, which disbanded in 1998, will also be holding a revival concert in March.
Our question to you is, which other bands would you like to see make a comeback, even if it’s only for one night, and what’s your honest opinion about all these revivals? Are the bands nostalgically yearning to be back in the spotlight, or are they just trying to cash in on the latest boom?

I can’t wait to see X JAPAN
I don’t know much about the other bands though, and I didn’t get the chance to see Luna Sea :/
it would be amazing to see X Japan, but with the ticket acess being so strict and that ocean thing between me and Japan it might be hard.
I’d like to see Dir en grey again, I know they haven’t disbaned, but I’d like to see them as their old selfs the fun vk era diru would be nice, I’m sad they didn’t come to europe in those days.
I’d love to see a reunion of “Happy End” aswell as a “Cali-Gari” revival, although I guess that won’t ever happen.
CG probably at _sometime_, but definitely not Happy End. Too bad, however, I think it’s a good thing for the Dinosaurs awaking back to live, I just wonder how long it will last and if others may follow?
definitely kagerou, luna sea (because i still didnt see them live),
I love the revivals, so far the best revival has to be D’ERLANGER, as this band, the same age as X-Japan and also one of the first VK/metal bands is fully returned. Concerts, albums, singles and no plans to stop.
If I could ask for one band to come back for just one night it would be ZI-KILL. They are an amazing band and it’s sad to see how little known their wonderful body of work is in the English speaking Jrock world
I really want to see Kagerou come back too actually. Deadman, Fatima, and old style Pierrot as well.
It’s really sad knowing that you might never get to see the bands and hear the songs you love in concert.
I’d definetly love to see Cali Gari get back together, even though Goatbed is pretty awsome.
Guniw Tools should definetly come back as well.
I miss Deadman well
killerclaw, it’s as if you’ve read my mind! I love the return of D’ERLANGER and I can’t wait for the releases to come! It’s great to see them back. And I fully agree on ZI:KILL too, I’d love to see them back…
I also would like to see Kagerou back, as I haven’t had the chance to see them…
I’m excited about D’erlanger returning, but I’d LOVE to see Iceman or Vasalla come back. They were awesome. D:
Sanaka is back? Wow made my day
I’d love to see Vizell back, I loved this band to death.
Deadman was indeed great, Madeth Gray’ll, Earl Grey and PLC were amazing
MALICE MIZER, come back!
I really want to see the live of X-Japan in March…but I need to study….ToT….But if they really have chance a tour in Europe I must be to see them…..
