Christmas is just around the corner: it’s a holiday filled (hopefully) with presents, family members, lots of food, sometimes a visit to church and of course, the inevitable Christmas songs.
Now, Christmas songs aren’t always horrible, but aren’t we all getting a little sick of Deck the Halls, haven’t we all already figured out what Mariah Carey wants for Christmas ages ago and haven’t we heard enough times what happened to George Michael’s heart during Christmas last year (and the year before, and before, and before…)?
So, in order to make your background music a little more bearable and fitting to your own taste, we present you with a list of Christmas songs by Japanese artists. Though Christmas isn’t a traditional thing in Japan and is more regarded as an event for friends and lovers, there are quite a lot of Christmas songs to be found. Of course, there’s a vast amount of covers of existing Christmas songs, but also original ones.
Please note that not all of these songs are intended just for Christmas, some of them just sound very Christmas-y or wintry!
